Three Hurricanes, One Weekend

9–11 October 2026

Over one weekend, three hurricanes hit North America from both sides. On Friday night Isaias, the Atlantic's first hurricane of the year and the latest first Atlantic hurricane since 1905, came ashore near Destin at 105 mph. On Saturday Simon reached 155 mph off Jalisco, close enough to batter the coast without making landfall. The same night Rachel, 14 days after it formed, drove its remnants into Baja California and on into the American Southwest. At least 11 people died. Simon is still offshore.
